Ready to Thrive at Home?

Ready to Thrive at Home?

You are so in the right place.

Welcome, I’m Mary!

A board certified NICU nurse, nurse educator and mom of two littles. I have over 10 years of experience working in Level IV NICUs with the highest level of acuity patients. Over these years, I have had the honor of working with hundreds of families during their most vulnerable time. Every day I am humbled by the strength and will of these fragile babies and the immense love their families have for them. My goal is to make the transition from the NICU to home as seamless and positive as possible in order to create a safe environment in which your baby can thrive.

Bring home the expertise and support of your NICU team.

1 in 10 babies born each year will experience a NICU stay and the majority of admissions are unexpected. In the NICU, your baby was monitored 24/7 and you had the support of your NICU team to help guide you to care for your baby. Once home, many parents of NICU grads report feeling like they are cut off or overwhelmed. Friends and family may try to help, but they don’t really understand what makes your NICU baby different. New mom and baby support groups and classes are meant for a “regular” newborn and you might feel left behind. You want to be able to experience the new baby bliss, but you just want someone who gets it to be in your corner.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • After the NICU, you go from 24/7 monitoring and support from your nurses to being fully in charge of navigating life at home. This transition can come with anxiety, overwhelm and SO. MANY. QUESTIONS. You want to be able to experience the new baby bliss, but you want someone who gets it to be in your corner. I can help!

  • Yes and no! Although I have completed doula training, my services are uniquely tailored to support you with the care of your NICU baby. I offer the guidance and nurturing support of a postpartum doula combined with the expertise of a certified NICU nurse.

  • No. While I am a Registered Nurse, The NICU Translator support services are not a substitute for the care and guidance of your baby’s specific medical team. In our programs we do not assess the physical health of your baby, give specific medical advice or assess or interact with any medical equipment. Instead we offer evidenced based education, community and individualized support to empower you to care for your NICU baby.
