The NICU journey can feel overwhelming, isolating, and filled with questions — but you don’t have to walk it alone.

NICU Doulas are specially trained to bridge the gap between medical and emotional care, offering education, advocacy, and hands-on support through every stage of your baby’s journey.

The doulas listed below have completed NICU Doula Academy and demonstrated competency in trauma-informed, evidence-based NICU support. Many also hold certifications in birth, postpartum, or lactation support.

Navigating Our Directory

To help you find the right fit, our directory includes two types of trained NICU professionals:

Certified NICU Doulas (C-ND)

Certified NICU Doulas have completed the full NICU Doula Academy program and met all certification requirements, demonstrating advanced competency in trauma-informed, evidence-based NICU support.

These professionals maintain their certification through continuing education and renewal every three years.

Professionally-Trained NICU Doulas

Professionally-Trained NICU Doulas have completed the NICU Doula Academy foundational training and are currently in the process of certification.

They have been verified as active students in good standing and may be listed for up to one year while completing the certification process. During their training, these doulas have completed extensive education in NICU awareness, trauma-informed support, and family advocacy.

Disclaimer

All doulas listed in this directory are independent professionals who have completed the NICU Doula Academy certification through The NICU Translator.
