“When Mary launched the first cohort of the NICU DOULA ACADEMY, I was among the first students to sign up.
The training gave me confidence to care for the infants, knowledge about NICU protocols and terms, insight into a hospital environment, the etiquette to deal with medical personnel, and so much more information and a plethora of other valuable content.
It might have been the universe or faith, but shortly after my NDA training ended, I signed a 5-month contract supporting a family with preemie twins in the DC Metro area. If it wasn’t for Mary and all her guidance and mentoring, I don’t think I would have had the confidence to apply for that job. I moved in with the family with the entire NICU DOULA ACADEMY printed out in my laptop bag, and not only did I finish the contract with amazing results, I also formed a lifelong bond with the family and left 2 thriving babies who developed beyond their 30-week birth age so wonderfully that even their pediatrician was amazed by it.

“The NICU Doula Academy gave me so much more than knowledge—it gave me confidence, community, and a deeper understanding of the real-life impact of this work. The flexibility of the program allowed me to learn at my own pace while still feeling supported by my cohort and the growing NICU doula community.
Since completing the Academy, I feel much more confident speaking with healthcare providers about the value of non-medical and emotional support for NICU families.
I no longer carry the same fear and uncertainty when a client may experience a NICU stay—I now have the knowledge, tools, and resources to meet their needs with confidence. NICU Doula Academy (NDA) is a must-do course for any perinatal professional looking to work with NICU babies and their families. I have never taken such a thorough, informative, and well-rounded course that not only covers the evidence-based information but also blends in the equally important emotional and trauma-informed care practices that are crucial for this heart-centered work. Mary is incredibly knowledgeable in all things NICU and has created this course and community with intention. If I could give Mary 10 stars I would. Her NICU Doula Academy is spectacular, the content is spot on, her resources are fantastic, but mostly it is her warm and down to earth style. She is personable and professional and an excellent trainer of complex and emotional material. I cannot recommend her trainings enough.
